“We are, as a species, addicted to story. Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories.”

ABOUT ME
Mengfan Huang's Story
As a junior student from China and persuade my dream in NYU Game Center, I keep digging my interest in Storytelling, Narrative Design, World Building, and Concept Design. I'm highly interested in how stories are told in different game genres and how narratives could be expressed uniquely. I was deeply influenced by interactive games: from game Portal from the 80s to modern games like Heavy Rain and Overboard.
As a student, I'm learning different ways of storytelling and trying different types of narrative approaches. I keep producing narrative works and publish them in various forms. I believe Games are eventually about stories.
I keep learning different skills like level design, system design, and combat design. I'm willing to learn any new concepts if I have a chance and am open to any opportunity I meet. I'm good at communicating and collaborating with others so we can get used to each other in the shortest time.
Also, I enjoy discussing, even arguing, for different game ideas and brainstorming new ideas. Prototyping and playtesting are also in the range that I'm comfortable doing.
